The collection contains personal correspondence between George R. Bubash and Jonas Salk and Bubash and Lorraine Friedman (for Salk) at the Salk Institute from 1954 to 1988. Bubash, Salk, and Friedman write about family news, touching on Salk's polio vaccine, Nobel Prize, and television appearances, and the activities and careers of Bubash's children--Nick, Mary, Stefany, and Alice--and wife Millie. Also includes research notes on viruses and immunology; carbon typescript of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis Committee on Standards proceedings, 10-11 Dec. 1948; University of Pittsburgh Medical Center "War on Polio" progress report, Sept. 1952 (4 pages); and a folder of carbon copy typescripts of Salk directives, 1949-1950.
